Greetings and salutations, once again a long period has passed since my last post. Many things have arisen since the beginning of the year – most of which have been dealt with.

This piece is part of a series of painting exercises and tests I’ve been working on for a personal project. It’s done in the style of Eyvind Earle (1916-2000), one of my favourite artists. In the 1950’s he worked at Disney, setting the look for many projects, including the incredibly beautiful Sleeping Beauty. One may describe his style as unique, magical and at times, mysterious.

This project in development is at its earliest stages. Most of what I have worked on are doodles, colour sketches and raw ideas in an effort to find its own voice.

I continue to stress to you that I am NOT a great painter; but merely an artist striving to continue to learn different forms and styles. Beauty in art and the world around us is what inspires me to move forward.

  1. You paint like this yet haven’t posted in awhile? Unacceptable!

Seriously though, that’s a beautiful painting. It’s like some fantasy wonderland that I want to fall into.

You’ll gain yourself a follower if you keep the awesome paintings coming in. I’m watching you. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Very beautiful, and a wonderful tribute you made. 🙂
